Weekly Style Recap: November 3-7, 2025

Hello, and happy Sunday, everyone! ☺️ How is your weekend treating you so far? It’s been a very low-key weekend for me so far.

I really need to re-motivate myself to continue on with my CISSP studies to try and tackle that certification. I think it would be quite beneficial to my career in the long run, even if I still don’t quite know exactly where I want to land in the security industry. I feel like there are many aspects that I feel passionate about, but nothing is still jumping out at me, as if to say, “this is where you should be“. Even though I’ve narrowed my interests down considerably, I’m curious to know how others seem to find that ‘a-ha’ moment.

Case in point, I’ve recently learned about a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) certification (yes, that sounds really weird saying that word twice 😂), called the CMMC Certified Professional, or CCP. Aren’t acronyms fun? Anyway, the idea of obtaining that certification sounds intriguing, but I’m not entirely certain if it’s something that would help me advance in my career in the future or not. I sometimes wish there was a clear-cut sign that showed what path I should walk, and exactly what I needed to do to get there. That would be great, so if anyone can make that happen, I would greatly appreciate it. 😜

I’ve also started to remind myself again about the importance of privacy, especially in sharing of details. The internet is forever, after all—and some things are better left unsaid. On that note…

This Got Me Thinking

I’ve been thinking lately about the photos people share online, especially the ones that feel harmless. An outfit snap in someone’s bedroom, a mirror selfie showing off new shoes, or a quick pic of a coffee shop find that you discovered in passing.

We’ve gotten better at remembering to turn off location services before posting. However, we sometimes forget that the photo itself can share the details that metadata doesn’t.

That reflection in the mirror behind you? It might show a street sign, a storefront, or a landmark. The background of your outfit photo could reveal your apartment building’s distinctive architecture, or that coffee shop’s unique tile pattern. Even something as simple as the style of electrical outlets or the brand of fixtures can narrow down where you are more than you’d think. An eye-opening piece of information, camera and smartphone lenses have become so high quality, that by simply zooming in on a photo, one can glean information from the details of innocuous things, like the reflection in your sunglasses, or even your eyes themselves.

It’s not about living in fear or stopping the sharing that brings us joy. It’s about being intentional—about what we’re inviting into the frame and what we’re letting slip in unnoticed.

I still post my outfits, but I take an extra beat to look at the whole picture, not just what I meant to show. Because authenticity and privacy don’t have to be at odds. Sometimes it’s just about being a little more mindful of what the background is saying while we’re focused on the foreground.

Finally, here’s a look back at what I wore to work this past week. I hope you enjoy them, and enjoy the rest of your week!
